Brethren, the merger of Cornerstone
Lodge No. 699 into John W. Barkley
Lodge No. 621 should be completed
by May 1, 2008. We welcome approximately
200-plus Brethren to join us.
This will bring our total membership
in Barkley Lodge to almost 700. All of
the Brethren from Cornerstone are
going to be endowed members.
To the Brethren from Cornerstone
Lodge, the 2008 dues card you have
will be your dues card for this year.
No new dues cards will be issued, as
your is valid thru 2008. The next card
you receive will be from John W.
Barkley Lodge.
If you have not received anything
from me via e-mail, it is because I do
not have your e-mail address. If you
would like to be added to the Lodge
e-mail database, please e-mail me at
robert.jr2176@sbcglobal.net. This way
we can keep you informed of up-coming
activities, events, dinners, illness
and/or deaths in a very timely manner.
Please put in the subject space
“Barkley Lodge member and your
Last Name.” Please check your e-mail
at least every other day. Presently I
have 235 Brethren in the e-mail list.
Would any of the e-mail Brethren
like to receive the Barkley Light via
e-mail? I have received a reply from
only 40 Brethren that they would like
to receive the Barkley Light by e-mail.
If you DON’T want it via e-mail,
please let me know that also. Please
let me know A.S.A.P.
Our Inspection this year in the Entered
Apprentice Degree was on April
9th. As of this writing it has not yet
happened, but with all the practice we
have had and the officers we have, I
am sure we did a great job.
Brethren, please start saving up, as I
will be sending out 2009 dues notices
in early September. The 2009 dues are
still only $40.00.
With the addition of the 200-plus
Brethren from Cornerstone Lodge, I
will need even more Brethren to help
with the “Call Committee for Funeral
Services” for the Brethren who are not
on e-mail. Please call me at 216-521-
5557 if you can assist me with this important
job.
I hope to have a new membership
directory by our first meeting in September.
If you would like one, please
come to your Lodge and pick one up.
Please try to bring in at least one
new member into the Lodge so it may
continue to exist for many years to
come. Please bring one in! If you need
a petition, just call the Secretary at
216-521-5557 and I will send you one

Our Worshipful Master, W.B. Allen
Warner, is planning many activities
for the Brethren of the lodge and their
ladies to take part in. Please attend as
many as possible.

BOARD, put the dates in
your date book.
There are no strangers here, only friends you
have not as yet met.
