The Secretary's Desk
Brethren, I will be making a new
Barkley Directory after the first of the
year once the 2010 dues are all in.
Since the last Barkley Directory in
June 2009, we have lost 24 of our
Brethren for a total of 26 since the
middle of May 2009. Many of our
Brethren have moved or have new
phone numbers, hence the need for a
new Directory.
As of this writing (early December),
I have not received 2010 dues from 76
of our Brethren. Second notice post
cards were sent out in early November,
and final notices will be going out
soon.
I have received back many of the information
sheets that were included
with your 2010 dues notices. Thank
you, Thank you and Thank you. Without
this information our membership
roster would not be as up to date as it
is.
Brethren, we are having a very nice
problem. As of December 2nd we
have received 12 (yes, a dozen) new
petitions for membership, and 11 have
been voted into membership in
Barkley Lodge so far. On November
24th we initiated four Entered Apprentices
in one evening. We have
conferred eight Entered Apprentice
Degrees so far this fall. We will be
doing two Fellow Craft degrees on
December 23rd. We will be doing
plenty of degree work this year, and I
have heard more petitions are still
coming in – what a nice problem to
have.
Please bring in at least one new
member so our Lodge and the Fraternity
can continue for many years to
come. Please bring one in! If you need
a petition just call the Secretary @ 216-
521-5557 and I will send you one
A.S.A.P.
Presently I have 313 Brethren on the
Barkley e-mail list. If you have not
received anything from me via email,
it is because I do not have your
e-mail address. If you would like to be
added to the Lodge e-mail database,
please e-mail me at robert.jr2176@sbc
global.net so we can keep you
informed of up-coming activities,
events, dinners, illnesses and/or
deaths in a very timely manner.
If you have an email address on
record, I am sending you the current
issue of the Barkley Light. If you
would like to keep receiving a hard
copy you must let me know via email
or call me. To help your Lodge save
some money, I need to hear from you.
This is your Lodge; please support it
as often as you can.
Read your TRESTLE
BOARD, put the dates in
your date book.
There are no strangers here, only friends you
have not as yet met.
Fraternally,
Your Secretary
Bob Hubert, Jr.
